Pre-CanSkate Winter 2025

For skating lessons from January to March, 2025

Registration Dates:

Registration for the Winter season of CanSkate/PowerSkate will open on the following dates:

Okotoks/Foothills County Residents: November 15, 2024

Public Registration: November 22, 2024

All Fall/Winter programming will take place at the Okotoks Recreation Centre - Piper Arena and Scott Seaman Sports Rink.

Registration Deadlines:

CANSKATE/PRE-CANSKATE: January 31, 2025 (or until sessions are full)

PRE-POWER/POWERSKATE: January 31, 2025 (or until sessions are full)

OSC reserves the right to cancel or adjust sessions or pricing as deemed necessary by the OSC Board of Directors.

All withdrawals and cancellations are subject to the OSC Cancellation & Refund Policy.

Additional Fees

Skate Canada Membership Fee 2024-25 - $62

The Skate Canada Membership fee is due once per season and is mandatory for all on-ice participants. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

The current season dates are Sept 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025.

Payment is required before any participant may take to the ice. The fee is made up of a registrant fee to both the National office and Section office (Alberta-NWT/Nun), the Safe Sport fee and Injury Benefit Charge.

2025 Ice Show

All participants of the 2024-25 season are invited to participate in our year-end Ice Show production. Additional fees will apply to participate in this show scheduled for March 2025. More information will be provided closer to the end of the season. Additional costs are to cover ice fees for practice sessions and costumes.

Multi-Participant Discount

Register 2 or more participants in the same season on the same invoice and receive $25 off the overall registration. Qualifying registrations will see discount applied at checkout.

Multi-Session Discount

Register your skater for 2 or more weekly sessions and receive the following discounts. Qualifying registrations will see discount applied at checkout.

What's after Pre-CanSkate?

At the end of full season, skaters will receive a report card. If the Coach has assessed that your skater has completed all the skills required for Pre-CanSkate, your skater is now welcome to register for CanSkate. Once a skater has completed Pre-CanSkate, there is not an age restriction For example, if a skater is 4 years old and passed Pre-CanSkate, they can register for CanSkate (as long as Pre-CanSkate was completed at OSC).

If your skater has completed the skills before mid-season, the coaches will look to transition your skater directly onto the CanSkate session and you will be contacted with more information. As Pre-CanSkate is 30 mins and CanSkate is 45mins, additional program fees and a different session time may apply (classes are prorated and fees would be approximately $20 or lower).
